Work Hardening Program

​Our occupational therapist (OT) will run through a full set of tests to identify what the patient’s functional capacities are. As well, the patients work / lifestyle activities are taken into account and recommendations are made on how to adapt/change work or life activities in line with these limitations. The OT will also provide with potential treatment solutions and expected outcome.

Our team will develop a personalized work hardening program of 6-8 weeks in order to improve the general physical condition of the patient and maximize his/her ability to return to work. This program will integrate work simulations that develop the client to the physical requirements of their job.  We will integrate pain and energy management techniques, reintegrate basic routines (sleep, nutrition), increase participation in daily activities, decrease kinesiophobia and catastrophizing and increase self-efficacy. We provide a progressive graded exercise program aimed at increasing strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiopulmonary function.
